Life & Leadership Coaching
Through my Cultural sensitivity approach, I equip individuals and organisations with the tools needed to challenge and transform themselves. My methods are designed to promote inclusive personal growth and leadership, fostering environments where both people and businesses thrive.
Peaceful Greetings
Welcome to my virtual home! I am SisDr Sandra Richards.
Here you will find several rooms and corridors that introduce you to my core philosophy, beliefs, passion, goals and all the things that I am interested in.
Amplifying the Voice of the Voiceless
Eurocentric dominance and oppression have led to exploitation, devaluation, and deprivation of privileges and voices. Amplifying the voice of the voiceless is at the core of everything I do.
I use a combination of coaching, counselling and mentoring techniques to assist people to connect to their true selves unapologetically and achieve their personal and professional aspirations. My culturally sensitive empathetic approach provides a safe space to explore routes to achieving dearly held goals. Healing trauma is a key component in overcoming personal obstacles to achieving goals.
Think Differently
My key areas of interest include reparatory justice, education, social inclusion, human rights, community development, spiritual development, empowerment and Caribbean African cultural competence. As a coach, mentor, counsellor, guest speaker, and author, I employ various methods to generate ‘difficult conversations’ around these topics and bring about a meaningful change.
For over 30 years, I have devoted myself to supporting people in their journey of self-development and advocating the cause of human rights and social equality. I hold an MA in Education, a post graduate qualification in Quality Assurance, and a PhD in education inclusion, particularly in the context of African and Caribbean heritage communities. As a result, I think differently.

The Way We See It
My book, ‘The Way We See It’ (2008) highlights the uncomfortable historical links between school exclusion and British education policies.
I call for “difficult conversations” which require moving beyond the discomfort of discussions on discriminatory policy and practices toward the actual implementation of research-based social inclusion practice, inclusive policies and associated legislation.
The secrets behind my title and attire
Being born into a Caribbean household, I retain the title Sister as it denotes a CommonUnity connection to the African Diaspora. ‘Dr’ is a mark of academic achievement within a Eurocentric paradigm. The title ‘ SisDr’ reflects my identity as a Caribbean African global citizen and my academic achievement.
Sandra is the name given by my biological mother and father and means ‘Mother of the Sorrow’. My attire represents some dimensions of who I am and what I manifest. The Fontomfrom Ashanti drum features the Sankofa bird which denotes returning to the past to obtain nuggets of wisdom that guide us as we move forward.
English is not my first language
I am proud of my cultural DNA, heritage, identity, background and native language. I assert that English is not my first language and fails to convey the depth and breadth of my feelings, hurt, thoughts and beliefs.
This way of communicating is an aspect of my resistance to Eurocentric dominance and oppression.
Graditude
Let me begin by giving thanks to The Most High Creator of all ‘things’ and no one ‘thing’. In Divine authority, there is no singularity, there is plurality. Many things exist and thrive at the same time. I also express my deepest respects to Elders from whom permission to speak has been requested and received.
