Why do we only feel valuable when we’re doing everything?

Running from one task to the next. Whether that’s overdelivering at work, showing up for family, or holding space for friends. Carrying the weight….. all the time, with no pause.

For many Black, Brown, and Mixed Heritage Women, rest feels like a luxury. And slowing down? That feels like failure.

But let’s tell the truth. That kind of constant doing..… isn’t sustainable.

We’ve internalised a pace that was never meant for us. A system that celebrates productivity but never wellness. A culture that praises our strength but never allows our softness.

But What If Slowing Down Is Power?

🧠 What if rest isn’t laziness, but wisdom?

💭 What if slowing down is what allows clarity to emerge?

🌿 What if we were never meant to sprint through our lives, but to move with intention and grace?

We don’t need to earn rest. We don’t need to apologise for taking time. We don’t need to ‘catch up’ to anyone.
